News: Great Time to Top Up Your Heating Oil

It’s a brilliant moment to think about topping up your oil tank – prices are at some of the best levels we’ve seen this year! With the pound stronger and the usual summer price dip, now really is the sweet spot for savings.
To give you an idea:
This weeks prices are over 20% lower than the January highs – that’s a saving of more than £150 on 1,000 litres!
Even compared with last month, prices are around 5% lower, saving you around 3p per litre.
After more than 40 years of running oil-buying groups – starting in 1982 with just 25 members in our village and now serving thousands of members across Northants, Leics, Warks and beyond – our aim is still the same: to help members save as much as possible on their heating oil.

Over the years I’ve learned three golden rules to get the very best value:
Avoid December deliveries. Prices are higher and deliveries are often delayed – top up in November or earlier instead.
Skip the two weeks before and the week after Easter. Short working weeks push prices up and slow deliveries down.
Order when your tank is a quarter full. It gives time for delivery and you’ll catch the best rates.
If your tank is getting low, now’s the time to act – this is one of the best buying opportunities of the year.
