With the current worldwide situation relating to Coronavirus, things are getting difficult across the entire downstream oil industry.
Home heating oil prices have fallen to a low not seen for around 6 or even 7 years and fuelled by an element of ‘panic buying’ due to the virus and the advent of new Government guidelines about staying at home etc, etc.
The resulting unprecedented demand is putting really significant pressures on all distributors with most extending oil delivery times to around 15 working days.
The answer for now is to consider if you are likely to need oil in the next month or so and if you do, place an order. Our suggestion is to only order what you need as fuelling excessive demand will immediately impact the ability for all suppliers to satisfy that demand and may put those who are genuinely in need and at risk in danger.
