It's the same every year: December comes, we hit a cold snap and suddenly everything goes bananas! We call it 'the silly season'. Demand for oil shoots up and in response delivery times get longer and prices sky rocket!

Even with all the concerns around supply & terrorism these days, heating oil is still, at it's heart, a very seasonable business; and December is always the worse time to buy. We hear it from our members all the time:

"A delivery on 11th November was 58.2p per litre.
Same company today, 5th December, quoted 69p per litre."

And unfortunately it affects us here at The heating oil club as well; although we try to rein it in as much as we can, working hard for our members to keep prices down and the quality of service high.
